How to Make Your Own Illuminator for Your Face!

Hello Gorgeous!

I have found the perfect way to get a natural glow without getting sunburn or breaking the bank!  We all want to look like the sun kissed our faces and gave us a warm glow. There happens to be a million products out there that can give you a glow.  Here is a makeup artist trick that can save you $$$.

Mac cosmetics has some wonderful pigments that can be used on your eyes, face, cheeks, and lips.  Lots of people think that Mac pigments are just for the eyes. I own lots of them and use them in a variety of ways. My favorite color is Vanilla.  I like to mix some Vanilla with my moisturizer and then blend together onto my face.  You can also mix some Vanilla into your foundation if you don't want to mix with your moisturizer.

I use one pump of foundation on the top of my hand and sprinkle some Vanilla pigment onto it and mix gently with my finger.  Next I apply it all over for a luminous glow! Try it and tell me how you like it!

Dolce & Gabbana Eyeshadow Quad in Femme Fatale

Hello Gorgeous!

I had the pleasure of coming upon a very luxurious eyeshadow compact by Dolce & Gabbana.  I have to admit I purchased it because of it's name (Femme Fatale).  I have always wanted to purchase Dolce & Gabbana's makeup, but was a little afraid because they design clothes not makeup!  I am really glad I took a risk and did.  The colors in this palette are absolutely gorgeous.

This palette consists of greys and blacks.  I have to say I throughly impressed with the texture and color.  The feel of these eyeshadows are super silky!  These have to be my new favorite eyeshadows.  Anyone can wear these colors and they look gorgeous on all eyes.  You can apply it for a sultry smokey look or make it subtle. Either way you will definitely be a Femme Fatale!  Now that is SEXY!

How to Make Your Own Rose Water!

Hello Gorgeous!

I love owning rose water spray from the department stores, but lately with the way the economy it is too expensive!  I found a way to have what I love and not spend too much money.  For Valentines Day I received a beautiful vase of my favorite roses (Latina Roses), so instead of throwing them away after a couple of days I made rose water.

Rose Water Ingredients:

Handful of rose petals (wash all the chemicals off gently first)
2 cups of spring water, boiling

In a bowl, place the roses and pour water on top of them.  Cover with a plate and let them sit for a few hours.  Using a strainer, drain the water into a gorgeous spray bottle of choice.

Keep it in your purse to spray over your makeup during the day as a refresher or keep in the bathroom as an astringent.  You can use this spray several times a day!

Benefits of Rose Water:

Normal Skin: purified and cleansed
Oily Skin: balanced and toned
Sensitive Skin: soothed and cooled
Mature Skin: toned and rejuvenated

Other Benefits:

Helps heal sunburns and wounds.
Apply it as an aftershave to soothe irritated skin.

Best Drugstore Buy this Week!

Hello Gorgeous!

This week when I went grocery shopping I happen to stop in the baby aisle because I was wanting a baby lotion for my dry skin.  Instead I ended up buying Johnson's baby bedtime bath wash.  It has a scent of lavender (one of my favorite scents).  This scent reminds me of a day at the spa!  I love how it makes my skin feel so soft and the smell is wonderful and soothing.  If it is good enough for a baby then it is good enough for my skin.  I have even heard celebrities use these products too.

My next best drugstore buy is Maybelline's Eyestudio Gel Eyeliner called Lasting Drama. I found my Bobbi Brown was getting too expensive so I bought this instead to save a few $.  This product cost me $7 at Wal-Mart.  Let me just say that this eyeliner is BETTER than Bobbi Brown's.  I was amazed.  I used it and it lasted all day. People are always asking me what eyeliner I wear because it always looks so smooth. Now I can say Maybelline Eyestudio!

How to Get that Natural Glow!

Hello Gorgeous!

I don't know about you but I want the summer to get here already!  Winter has been a harsh one on my skin this year, but I still have been able to keep a natural glow on my face.  I use several products that I cannot live without and I believe everyone should have as well.

EXFOLIATE:

The first and most important thing for that natural glow is to exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week depending on your age.  20 year olds should only exfoliate maybe once a week or every week and half.  30+  should do this every 2-3 times a week.  What I love to use is my Clarisonic brush everyday twice a day.  My exfoliator that I use is Microdelivery Peel by Philosophy.  For a less expensive version try an at home remedy like mixing honey, sugar, and lemon.

Something else I do once a week is "Quench" my face with hydration.  I love Kate Somerville's Quench Hydrating Mask.  This mask has hyaluronic acid that pulls moisture deep into the skin cells helping to soften and plump your skin.

FOUNDATION:

Next, I love to use a dewy foundation like NARS' Sheer Glow foundation or Dior's Nude collection.  Lately I have been loving Smashbox's BB Cream.  All of this will give you a dewy, NOT shiny, look.

BLUSH:

I always use a peachy pink blush on the apples of my cheeks.  The ones I love are NARS' Orgasm, MAC's Pinch O Peach, and Milani's Dolce Pink.

HIGHLIGHTER:

Hightlighting the high points of your face are the most important for giving the illusion of a glowing face.  I love to use Mally's Effortless Airbrush Blush and Highlighter Duo.  I just use the highlight part. You want to brush on the highlighter on top of your forehead, tops of the cheeks and around up to the brow, on the cupid's bow of your lips, and along the bridge of your nose.

LIPS:

I love to use my Dior Lip Glow by itself or on top of a nude pink lipstick (any nude color you like).  My top favorite nude lipsticks are Rimmel's Airy Fairy, MAC's Creme d' Nude, Urban Decay's Naked, or Tom Ford's Blush Nude. I like to top them off with NAR's Turkish Delight or Hourglasses Heroine.

My favorite celebrities with a beautiful glow are Kate Beckinsale and Jennifer Lopez.

Estee Lauder for Mad Men Collection!

Hello Gorgeous!

Trending right now is that old hollywood glamour, and the makeup industry also has it's hand in the pie as well. MAC will be coming out with a Marylin Monroe makeup collection in October and now Estee Lauder is launching it's MAD MEN collection.

This collection is inspired by a 60s vintage design.  The blush in this collection is a rosy color that was iconic for that era.  The price is $40 and is a limited edition.

The lipstick is in a cherry red and also iconic for that era of the 60s.
